Well it’s been a long process (at least for me) but the new site and revised material is now available. I hope you find it easier to use and understand. Here’s basically what has happened (which won’t mean much to new students):
1. David’s weekend audio seminar has been completely reworked. I’ve pulled it apart and reorganized it into more manageable chunks that cover three topics: David’s philosophy, getting to ‘Misty’ (your first song), and learning to voice whatever songs you’d like to play.
2. The printed hand-out has now been incorporated into the slides (videos) that David’s original audio files have been attached to. Where applicable, other printable material has been included on the topic page to which it applied. You can navigate directly to the topic you want to review (or search).
3. The ‘Misty’ dot song format has been significantly revised – primarily to create a more direct bridge to creating your own voicings. The extra notation isn’t necessary to learn the dot version but it helps orient you to a more typical notation you’ll see a lot more of as you progress.
4. Much of the supporting material in both the Basic and Advanced memberships has been reworked, in some cases with additional insights or clarification of more advanced topics.
You may notice that the ‘partial’ dot songs have disappeared. We’re hard at work developing (and licensing) new versions of supplemental dot songs that should be more useful and include the supporting lead sheets. These will be a separate purchase (because of royalty issues) and are an optional part of the Method.
Our vision is that this new site will change and evolve based on feedback and insights from our students. Please help by emailing your thoughts and ideas.
Thanks so much.
Well done David,Im really looking forward to getting down to some learning this method once more, the new site looks great and from what Ive seen so far you’ve done a really good job of updating the method to make it easier to understand and apply.
